I would like to raise a practical issue regarding the process for dealing with ancestral property in Gujarat for those who have lived abroad for many years. This particular problem is affecting older women who are entitled to inherit a share of their family’s ancestral property following the Amendment to the Hindu Succession Act 2005.
પાટીદાર અનામતઃ વિના સંવાદ, નહીં ઉદ્ધાર 27/08/2015 5:49 am Vikram Nayak ગુજરાતમાં મંગળવારે ન બનવાનું બની ગયું. અનામતની માગ સાથે છેલ્લા કેટલાક દિવસોથી રાજ્યભરમાં ધરણાં-પ્રદર્શન-રેલી કરી રહેલા પાટીદાર અનામત આંદોલન સમિતિની અમદાવાદની મહાક્રાંતિ રેલી તો અભૂતપૂર્વ સફળતા સાથે સંપન્ન થઇ પણ સાંજ ઢળતાં પરિસ્થિતિએ જે હિંસક વળાંક લીધો તે ચિંતાજનક છે. રાજ્યનો એક પણ નાગરિક અશાંતિનો માહોલ નહોતો ઇચ્છતો, પણ ન બનવાનું બની જ ગયું. સાતેક લાખ પાટીદારો એકત્ર થયા હતા, છતાં કોઇ અનિચ્છનીય બનાવ વગર રેલી પૂરી થતાં વહીવટી તંત્રથી માંડીને આમ આદમીએ હાશકારો અનુભવ્યો હતો, પરંતુ આ શાંતિ અલ્પજીવી નીવડવાની છે તેવો ભાગ્યે જ કોઇને અંદાજ હતો.

પાકિસ્તાનના વલણમાંથી ભારતે બોધપાઠ લેવો રહ્યો 27/08/2015 5:50 am Vikram Nayak ભારત-પાકિસ્તાન શાંતિમંત્રણા પર ફરી એક વખત વિવાદનો પરદો પડી ગયો છે. અને આ વખતે પણ આ ના-પાક કૃત્ય પાકિસ્તાને જ કર્યું છે. ભારત અને પાકિસ્તાનના નેશનલ સિક્યુરિટી એડવાઇઝર્સ (એનએસએ) વચ્ચે ૨૩-૨૪ ઓગસ્ટે દિલ્હીમાં યોજાનારી મંત્રણા રદ થઇ ગઇ છે કેમ કે પાકિસ્તાની પ્રતિનિધિ મંડળ કાશ્મીરી અલગતાવાદીઓને મળવાની જીદ છોડવા તૈયાર નહોતું. બન્ને દેશોની સરકારો, નેતાઓ અને રાજકીય પક્ષો આને દુર્ભાગ્યપૂર્ણ ગણાવી રહ્યા છે. શા માટે અને ક્યા કારણસર તેઓ આવું કહે છે એ તો તેઓ જ જાણે, પરંતુ ભારતીયો જરૂર આ નિર્ણયથી ખુશ છે.
