This is rather a different type of seeking the royal approval simply because the Parliament had approved an act for a full term Government unlike in the past the Prime Minister of the day has lost (at least for the time being) his perogative to go for an election. In a way this fixed term parliament is helpful for both the policy makers and the people who are governed. Besides removing that suspence and drama of a snap election, such fixed term parliaments could also make probably a lame parliament or the government in the ultimate analysis.
