લંડનઃ વિશ્વના વિકસિત દેશોની સરખામણીએ બ્રિટન હેલ્થકેરના ક્ષેત્રે ઘણું પાછળ છે. ઓર્ગેનાઈઝેશન ફોર ઈકોનોમિક કો-ઓપરેશન એન્ડ ડેવલપમેન્ટ દ્વારા ૩૪ દેશોમાં આરોગ્યસંભાળની સરખામણી કરવામાં આવી હતી. તેના રિપોર્ટ અનુસાર યુરોપના પશ્ચિમી પડોશીઓનાં ધોરણે આવવા માટે NHSને વધુ ૫૦,૦૦૦ નર્સીસ અને ૨૬,૫૦૦ ડોક્ટર્સની જરૂર છે અને તે માટે પાંચ બિલિયન પાઉન્ડનો ખર્ચ કરવો પડે તેમ છે. હેલ્થકેરમાં OECD દેશોની સરેરાશ કરતા પણ બ્રિટનમાં ઓછો ખર્ચ કરાય છે. વર્ષ ૨૦૦૯થી ૨૦૧૩ના ગાળામાં હેલ્થકેરમાં વાસ્તવિક ખર્ચની વૃદ્ધિ શૂન્ય ટકા હતી. હેલ્થકેરના ક્ષેત્રે વધુ ખર્ચ કરનારા દેશોમાં ફ્રાન્સ, કેનેડા, બેલ્જિયમ, જર્મની ન્યૂ ઝીલેન્ડ અને ડેન્માર્કનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
