Dr (Hon) Amit Lath, an NRI businessman and philanthropist from Mandrela, Rajasthan, has been named among Poland's 30 most influential foreigners for his contributions to business and the economy.

The CEO and Managing Partner of the Poland-based Sharda Group, Lath has played a key role in strengthening India-Poland trade since moving to Łódź in 1998. He is also recognised for his humanitarian work during the 2022 Russia-Ukraine war, when he helped evacuate thousands of stranded Indian students under Operation Ganga. 

Almost half of the British public believe high-net-worth individuals have a duty to donate to charity, according to new research unveiled at the third Giving and Impact Summit, where more than 140 philanthropists, wealth advisers, business leaders and government representatives gathered at the London Stock Exchange to discuss the future of UK philanthropy.

Christopher Nolan is set to visit India for the first time for the Mumbai premiere of his upcoming film The Odyssey, accompanied by producer Emma Thomas and actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland. The event will mark the first official Indian premiere of a Christopher Nolan film.

Following allegations by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav that crores of rupees in donations to the Ram Temple were missing, the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged misappropriation.

The SIT, led by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, questioned more than 40 people during its investigation in Ayodhya and submitted a preliminary report. Based on the findings, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Krishna Mohan filed a police complaint seeking action against eight individuals. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a three-day visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29 at the invitation of President Patrick Herminie.

He arrived in Victoria, where he was received at the airport by President Herminie, along with Cabinet ministers and senior officials, in a gesture reflecting strong bilateral ties. The welcome ceremony also featured cultural performances, including a traditional dance from Gujarat’s Kutch region.
