South Asian Heritage Month, observed across the UK from 1–31 July, celebrates the rich cultures, histories and contributions of South Asian communities.

It also promotes greater understanding of the shared histories between the UK and the eight South Asian nations while encouraging younger generations to embrace their heritage. This year's theme, 'Unity in Diversity', highlights shared values, cultural diversity and a collective sense of community and belonging.

The Government of India has launched the Electronic Overseas Citizen of India (e-OCI) card, marking a major step towards digitising services for the Indian diaspora. 

Introduced by Amit Shah, the e-OCI is a digital version of the existing OCI card, allowing applicants to complete the entire process online, from submitting documents to downloading the approved card.

Rifco Theatre Company is taking ‘Surinderella', the UK's largest-scale British South Asian pantomime, on a nationwide tour from 16 July to 31 October 2026. Reimagining the classic fairy tale through a contemporary British South Asian lens, the production combines Bhangra beats, vibrant colour, magic, family-friendly comedy and audience participation with the much-loved traditions of pantomime.
