ઓગસ્ટા વેસ્ટલેન્ડ હેલિકોપ્ટર સોદામાં લાંચના મુદ્દે ઘેરાયેલી કોંગ્રેસે અધ્યક્ષ સોનિયા ગાંધી અને ઉપાધ્યક્ષ રાહુલ ગાંધીનાં નેતૃત્વમાં દિલ્હીના જંતરમંતરથી સંસદ સુધી લોકશાહી કૂચનું આયોજન કર્યું હતું. સોનિયા ગાંધીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, સત્તાભૂખ્યો ભાજપ લોકશાહીની હત્યા કરી રહ્યો છે, પરંતુ અમે તેવું થવા નહીં દઈએ. કોંગ્રેસના આ પગલે પોલીસે સોનિયા, રાહુલ, પૂર્વ પીએમ મનમોહનસિંહ સહિતના તમામ કોંગ્રેસી નેતાઓની અટકાયત કરી હતી અને થોડા સમય પછી તેમને મુક્ત કરાયા હતા.

વૈજ્ઞાનિકોની આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય ટીમે દાવો કર્યો છે કે, તેમણે સૌર મંડળમાં પૃથ્વી જેવા રહેવાલાયક ત્રણ ગ્રોહની શોધ કરી છે. તાજેતરમાં જ કરાયેલાએક સંશોધનને નેચર નામની મેગેઝનમાં પ્રકાશિતકરવામાં આવ્યું છે. જેમાં કહેવાયું છે કે, પૃથ્વી અને શુક્રની જેમ વાતવરણ ધરાવતા ત્રણ નવા ગ્રહોની શોધ કરાઈ ચે. જેઓ ૩૯ પ્રકાશવર્ષ દૂર આવેલા છે. બેલ્જિયમની યુનિવર્સિટી ઓફ લીજના એસ્ટ્રોફિઝિસિસ્ટ તથા મુખ્ય સંશોધનકાર માઇકલ ગિલોને જણાવ્યું હતું કે, આપણા સૌર મંડળ બહાર પણ હવે જીવન મળી શકવાની સંભાવના ઊભી થઈ છે. વૈજ્ઞાનિકોએ સૌર મંડળમાં ભ્રમણ કરતા ગ્રહોની ચાલ અને વાતાવરણ પૃથ્વી જેવું હોવાથી દાવો કર્યો છે.

કોર્પોરેશનની ચૂંટણીમાં ટાઈ પડયા પછી ૬ઠ્ઠી મેએ પ્રથમ સામાન્ય સભા મળી હતી. સામાન્ય સભાના એક ક્લાક પૂર્વે કોંગ્રેસના પ્રવીણ પટેલ ભાજપની છાવણીમાં આવી જતાં સિનારિયો ફરી ગયો હતો. ભાજપ-કોંગ્રેસની ૧૬-૧૬ સરખી બેઠકો આવી હતી. તેને લઈને સત્તાની ખેંચતાણ ઊભી થઈ હતી, પરંતુ કોંગ્રેસમાંથી જ એક સભ્યને ફોડીને ભાજપે આ વખતે ફરી પોતાની સત્તા હાંસલ કરી છે.

Nadiya Hussain, the first ever Asian winner of the 'Great British Bake off' show is awaiting the launch of her first recipe book on 16 June. The book that will include the day to day recipes from Nadiya's kitchen (as it will be called), is perhaps the most awaited cookbook of the year, after Hussain was invited to bake a cake for the Queen on her 90^th birthday. The book will contain a variety of family-friendly recipes based on those she uses to feed her own three hungry children. The Luton-born chef's simplified version of the Royal cake she baked for the Queen, will also appear alongside other tempting recipes such as Beetroot and Mackerel Crescents, Manchego and Chorizo Calzone and Salted Pretzel Fudge.
