Nilesh came to the United Kingdom as a refugee of the Ugandan exodus of 1972. He went to school in Edinburgh and is a graduate of the University of London and Institute of Education. He is the member of the Executive Council of Independent Schools Association. As the founding Headmaster of The Swaminarayan Senior School, he has been instrumental in guiding it to one of the best performing secondary school in the country. He credits its success to leadership through humility. He firmly believes it is the key influence to any successful venture and strives to spread its value in all facets of life. He is the founder of Inspire Students and authored several books on the subject, including Inspirations.

Nusrat has been a party activist for over a decade and is a grassroots campaigner. She fought the Birmingham Ladywood seat at the 2010 General Election, securing the highest Conservative vote in 20 years. Selected as the candidate for Wealden in 2013, at one of the largest public primaries in the country, Nusrat was interviewed and chosen by up to 400 members of the public as their preferred candidate. She was elected to Parliament in May 2015 with 57% of the votes, totalling 32,508 votes and a majority of 22,967. Before her election, Nusrat campaigned for better healthcare on behalf of two charities, for breast cancer and ageing and elderly care. She has also worked internationally for the BBC World Service and worked in various trouble spots, including war zones. Nusrat was the first person in her family to go to university, gaining a Masters in International Relations from Leeds University. She is now the first female Muslim Conservative MP.

Prakash Patel, aged 35, is the Managing Director of the independent builder’s merchants, ABC Depot. Prakash started his professional career at an early age, selling products and goods while completing his education. At 18 he started his own import company, employing an additional 3 drivers to help cope with

Kate is an activist, left wing politician and mother of one. Daughter of Martha Osamor (former Deputy Leader of Haringey council, community leader and activist) Kate grew up in north London attending Creighton comprehensive school. Having successfully obtained a BA (Hons) degree from the University of East London in Third World Studies, Kate went on to work for the Big Issue, a magazine sold by homeless and long-term unemployed people.  She became the chair of Governors at a local school, while working in the voluntary sector. Kate started her 15 years’ service to the NHS by working at an Out Of Hours Co-Op before moving on to becoming a GP practice manager.

Nilesh Patel is 30 years old and is a director at The Prideview Group, an established commercial property investment company in London. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession, having trained at KPMG in London and graduated before that with a First class degree in Economics & Politics with Spanish from Warwick University. Outside of work he spends his time with his family. He is also a keen football player and fan of the Indian cricket team.

Professor Geoff Ward is currently Principal of Homerton College, University of Cambridge, where he is also Chairman of the Fitzwilliam Museum. He has also worked at the universities of Liverpool, Dundee and London, and has lectured widely across Europe, Japan and America, where he spent a year on research in Washington DC. Aside from his books and articles on English and American Literature, he is an editor of The Cambridge Quarterly, a Life Member of the Royal Society of Arts, and an Honorary Fellow of Harris Manchester College Oxford. He has published several collections of his own poetry, and is an occasional broadcaster on BBC Radio 3.
