ગયા વર્ષની ૮ નવેમ્બરે વડા પ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ રૂપિયા ૫૦૦ અને રૂપિયા ૧૦૦૦ની ચલણી નોટો પર પ્રતિબંધ લાદવાનો જે કુખ્યાત નિર્ણય જાહેર કર્યો હતો તે ભારતીય ઈતિહાસમાં સૌથી વ્યાપક જાહેર અસુવિધા બની રહ્યો અને તેના પરિણામો અને અસરોની ઝાળ હજુ પણ શમવાનું નામ લેતી નથી. આ મુદ્દા પર હવે તો ધૂળ જામી ગઈ છે અને ભારતના લોકો આ ફેરફારને જાણે પચાવી ગયાં છે ત્યારે વિદેશમાં રહેતા ભારતીય મૂળના લોકો માટે તેમની પાસે રહેલી આ પ્રતિબંધિત ચલણી નોટો વિશે મુશ્કેલીઓનો અંત આવ્યો નથી.

Holi is one of the most colourful festivals in the Hindu calendar and falls on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Fagan (Fagan Purnima).
