A launch reception was held on 12^th June 2015 for the Asian Achievers Awards (AAA), organised by Asian Business Publications Limited (ABPL), which will be taking place on 18^th September 2015. The Asian Achievers Awards is a star-studded event where the renown and crème de la crème attend; the launch reception in itself was no small affair.

Meera Syal wrote The House of Hidden Mothers after sixteen years since the critically acclaimed Life Isn’t All Ha Ha Hee Hee. Never one to shy away from difficult topics, in an exclusive interview with Asian Voice discussing surrogacy as a subject, she said, “With many ‘late-mothers’ or infertile couples returning to India in search of surrogates, there are now roughly 3,000 clinics that provide in vitro fertilisation in India. Every year, the country sees anywhere from 100 to 300 surrogate pregnancies, making it the surrogacy capital of the world.”

The small religious town of Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, has been painted white on occasion of its 350th birthday.

ઢાકાઃ વડા પ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીના બે દિવસના બાંગ્લાદેશ પ્રવાસે દ્વિપક્ષી સંબંધોના ઇતિહાસમાં સોનેરી પૃષ્ઠ ઉમેર્યું છે. ભારત-બાંગ્લાદેશે લેન્ડ બાઉન્ડ્રી એગ્રીમેન્ટ (જમીન સરહદ કરાર) પર હસ્તાક્ષર કર્યા છે. બાંગ્લાદેશના સ્થાપક શેખ મુજીબ ઉર રહેમાનના કાર્યકાળમાં આ કરાર માટે સમજૂતી થઇ હતી, જેના પર ૪૧ વર્ષના લાંબા અરસા બાદ બન્ને દેશોએ હસ્તાક્ષર કરીને તેને નક્કર સ્વરૂપ આપ્યું છે. આ કરારના પગલે બંને દેશો વચ્ચેના ચાર દસકા જૂના સરહદી વિવાદનો અંત આવશે.
