Three vulnerable children came under attack on Monday 12th January when their parents were out of the house, visiting family. Two teenage brothers, including a twelve year-old boy, were tied up in a traumatic robbery of the Aloms' family home in Hyde, Manchester. The culprits reportedly knocked on the door before overpowering the elder son Safwan, aged seventeen, and ramming him to the floor. The younger brother, Ridwaan, was tied up with a blanket. Dad Alom, aged 46, speculated that the men must have surveyed the property in a pre-meditated attack. The third child, a daughter Johura, aged 21, hid in her bedroom while the robbers raided the rooms below. The children reported that the robbers actually ran out of the house when they heard the house phone ring, fearing it was an alarm. However they soon realised their mistake and smashed down the front door with a heavy metal crow bar. The offenders have yet to be caught. They were seen making their escape in a white car along Woodend Road and onto Church Street.
