Diwali festivities 28/10/2014 11:50 am Urja Patel Last fortnight was a season of festivities and celebrations for London. Diwali is celebrated to commemorate the return of Ram to Ayodha after his exile. Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and with them their extended family and friends were seen celebrating this festival - thus making it a Global Festival and as the name suggests illuminating the lives of many. The Bengalis had their Kali Puja Celebrations on the same day. Over 200 temples and Gurudwaras in the UK organised special programmes and events including The London Kali Bari who had its Kali Puja at the Harrow Town Hall, a much awaited event by many.
