Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday won the by-election to Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency, defeating CPI candidate C Mahendran by a huge margin of 150,000 votes.

The Loomba Foundation observed its 10^th International Widow’s Day on 23 June with a charity fundraiser dinner at One Great George Street near Parliament Square in Westminster, where over 250 high profile guests were in attendance, including The Loomba Foundation’s President Cherie Blair CBE QC, actress and human rights activist Bianca Jagger, Baroness Betty Boothroyd, Lord Navnit Dholakia, Lord Jim Wallace, Baroness Lindsey Northover, Virendra Sharma MP, Mr. G. P. Hinduja, Mr. Navin Jindal among several others. 

રવિવાર તા. ૨૮ જુનની વહેલી સવારે બ્રેન્ટવુડ સ્કુલના ૩૪ વિદ્યાર્થીઅોને લઇને બેલ્જીયમના પ્રવાસે નીકળેલ કોચને મિડલકર્ક ગામના નાના સી-સાઇડના જંક્શન્સ પાસે બ્રીજ સાથે અથડાતા થયેલ ગોાઝારા અકસ્માતમાં ડ્રાઇવરનું સ્થળ પર જ મોત નીપજ્યું અને અાસીસ્ટન્ટ ડ્રાઇવરને તથા બે શિક્ષકો અને બે વિદ્યાર્થીઅોને ગંભીર ઇજા તેમજ અન્ય વિદ્યાર્થીઅોને નાની ઇજાઅો થયાના સમાચારે ભારે અાઘાતની લાગણી વ્યાપી ગઇ હતી.
