At the invitation of MPHA, over 120 people including MPS SMT, MPHA members, Staff Association representatives and prominent community leaders gathered to celebrate Diwali at New Scotland Yard on 8 September.

It was a star studded evening that made history.

The posh Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane, was glammed up chic in red and black.

Celebrities, politicians, industry heads, community leaders queued outside on the red carpet, to attend London's most prestigious and popular awards, with paparazzi enthusiastically flashing their cameras.

Inside in the Greatroom, champagne and exotic canapés were flowing, as men and women in elegant designer coutures socialised gleefully. The excitement reached its climax, as they were ushered in to be seated, and what followed was epic.

The 14^th Asian Achievers Awards was celebrated on the 19^th of September and the theme was 'Entrepreneurship: Proactive, Perseverance, Passionate,' which was at the core of all the activities. In my experience it was the best Asian Achievers Awards so far from several dimensions.

બર્મિંગહામના મોઝલી ખાતે રહેતા શ્રી ચીમનલાલ પાંવે લખેલી નવલકથા ‘લોટ કે આજા મેરે મીત’નું ગયા વર્ષે ઓકટોબર માસમાં બર્મિંગહામ ગુજરાતી લીટરરી સોસાયટી દ્વારા યોજાયેલા એક કવિ સંમેલનમાં યુ.કે.ના વિખ્યાત કવિઓ સર્વશ્રી આદમભાઈ ટંકારવી, પ્રફુલભાઈ અમીન, પંકજભાઇ વોરા, ભારતીબેન વોરા તથા અન્ય કવિઓ, શ્રોતાજનોની હાજરીમાં વિમોચન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. નવલકથાનો આસ્વાદ પ્રફુલભાઈએ ઘણા સુંદર શબ્દોમાં આપ્યો હતો.
