The Strand Continental Hotel at 143 Strand is facing severe business loss after a major building work outside their premises, in the adjacent Strand Bridge House, has affected them, blocking the hotel's view and causing loud banging noise, shaking the whole building.

ગુજરાતના પાટીદારો પર બનેલ એક ડોક્યુમેન્ટરી ફિલ્મ ‘મીટ ધ પટેલ્સ’ ૧૧ સપ્ટેમ્બરે અમેરિકાના ઘણા શહેરોમાં પ્રદર્શિત થઈ છે. આ ફિલ્મ બે ભાઈ-બહેન રવિ પટેલ અને ગીતા પટેલે પોતાના જ પરિવાર પર બનાવી છે. આ પ્રથમ એવી ઘટના છે કે ભારતીય મૂળની ડોક્યુમેન્ટરી અમેરિકાભરમાં જોવા મળશે.
