In a seemingly unlikely move, a Liberal Democrat councillor, Diane Horn, has defected to the right and pledged her allegiance to the UK Independence Party. Horn claimed she had become disillusioned with her party after eight-and-a-half years as their representative. A teacher who had sexual relationship with a 'vulnerable' 16 years old pupil has been jailed for two years.
