મિનીસોટાની એક હોસ્પિટલમાં ફાર્મસી તરીકે કામ કરતી પટેલ મહિલાના ઘરે અચાનક ફોન અાવે કે તમે ટેક્સ ભર્યો નથી એટલે તમારા પતિની ધરપકડ કરવા પોલીસ અાવી રહી છે. સાયન્ટીસ પતિ મિટીંગમાં બીઝી હોવાથી સંપર્ક થઇ શકતો નથી, મહિલાએ એપ્રિલમાં જ ટેકસ ભરી દીધો હોવા છતાં FBIની ધમકી સાંભળી, દર દશ મિનિટે ફોન કરનારને કયાં ટેક્સનો દંડ ભરવો એ પૃછા કરતાં પેલાએ નજીકના સ્ટોરમાથી "મનીપેક કાર્ડ" લઇ વાયરથી $૪૦૦૦ ભરવા જણાવ્યું. (અમેરિકામાં વિવિધ સ્ટોર્સ, ફાર્મસી સ્ટોર, મોટેલ અન્ય કોઇ પણ સાર્વજનિક જગ્યાએ મનીપેક કાર્ડ્સ મળે છે.) મહિલા બે દીકરાઅોને ઘરમાં મૂકી ભાગતી નજીકના સ્ટોરમાં પૈસા ભરપાઇ કરી અાવી ત્યાં અધવચ્ચે રસ્તામાં ફરી ફોન અાવ્યો "તેં દંડ ભર્યો કે નહિ? અમે તારે ઘરે બેઠા છીએ અને બેબી સીટીંગ કરીએ છીએ". ભયભીત થયેલી એ મહિલા ફોનમાં વાર્તાલાપ કરતી નજીકના પોલીસ સ્ટેશને પહોંચી ગઇ, ત્યાં પોલીસ સાથે એ શખ્સે પાંચ મિનિટ વાત કરતાં ખબર પડી કે અા ફ્રોડ છે પરંતુ એ પહેલાં તો મહિલાના બેંક ખાતામાંથી ડોલર ટ્રાન્સફર થઇ ગયા હતા. અમેિરકાના દરેક સ્ટેટમાં રહેતા ઘણા ગુજરાતીઅો અાવા બનાવટી ફ્રોડના શિકાર બન્યા છે.

Justice Secretary Chris Grayling on Monday 3rd November 2014, attended the official launch of Mosaic’s employability scheme which will provide a range of employment opportunities for prior offenders enrolled in Mosaic’s Ex-offender mentoring programme. The first corporate partners for the scheme also attended the event and included CEO Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE, CEO MITIE Group PLC and Iqbal Wahhab OBE, founder of Roast Restaurant. Working with corporate partners, Mosaic will endeavour to increase rehabilitation for ex-offenders within the Muslim community.

On Thursday 30 October, Mr Dhimant Trivedi, Chief Executive, Bank of Baroda (European Operations) invited guests to a gala Diwali reception at the River Bank Park Plaza. The evening started with a networking session, followed by the welcome address by Mr Trivedi and lighting of lamps by dignitaries. The evening also included live entertainment, dinner and dance 

Playwright Ayub Khan Din is back with all time favourite, East is East, but this time it has returned to its roots and with a particularly personal tone. Din joins the cast as overbearing father George Khan in this humorous revival by director Sam Yates. Largely autobiographical, we see how George is torn between his determination to raise his children as traditional Pakistani Muslims and the fact that they feel more British than anything.
